Lawyer for holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy case speaks out, says client had 'zero doubt' about Clancy's guilt

Edward Paltzik, the lawyer for Michael Desronvil, the holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy case.

The attorney for Michael Desronvil, the holdout jury in the Lindsay Clancy triple-homicide case that ended in a mistrial earlier this month, spoke out in his first television interview, saying his client had "zero doubt" that state prosecutors in Massachusetts proved Clancy was guilty of murdering her three young children.

Edward Paltzik spoke with Kayleigh McNenany in an interview that aired Monday morning on Fox & Friends and said Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, was wrong for suggesting Desronvil was not following the law while jury deliberations dragged on for almost 40 hours. The judge in the case declared a mistrial after the jury was deadlocked at 11-1.

"Michael had zero doubt," Paltzik told McNenany. When McEnany asked whether there was sufficient evidence for Desronvil to have reached his decision, Paltzik responded, "A lot of evidence. A mountain of evidence."

Paltzik went on to say, "Reddington is absolutely furious that Michael did the right thing," and that he's filing a bar complaint agains the defense lawyer. "It's a bit early to talk about lawsuits," Paltzik continued, "but I can say this: Reddington's conduct is not consistent with the standards of professionalism that we expect from members of the bar." 

He said Reddington's sole motive was to out Desronvil for being the holdout juror. "I believe that Kevin Reddington lost his mind," adding that he believes Reddington is "attacking the Sixth Amendment." Desronvil and his family have been harassed in the weeks since the mistrial was declared and other jurors on the case have spoken out and criticized Desronvil.

Paltzik also confirmed that Desronvil comes from a family of Haitian immigrants and said that his patriotism for the country has been a motivating factor behind those who have been vilifying him. "He's proud to be a citizen of the United States of America and to love this country," he said. "Michael thinks that the United States of America is the greatest country in the world, and that's one reason why he did the right thing."
