3 Lindsay Clancy jurors speak out, spark outrage with criticism of holdout juror

Several jurors who sat on the 12-person panel for the seven-week-long Lindsay Clancy case, which ended in a mistrial last week, spoke out to a local TV station and expressed frustration with the lone juror who was unable to find Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity, and the three women jurors sparked heavy blowback with their criticism of the holdout juror. 

The three jurors, including the jury foreman, spoke to Sue O'Connell of NBC 10 in Boston and opened up about their interactions with the holdout juror. Perhaps the quote that triggered the most reaction on social media came from Kellie Farina, a chef, who at one point during the interview said of the holdout, "He would not interact with us," Farina said. "He had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children."

Roni Carlson, an elementary school teacher who was the jury foreman on the case, said she was thrilled when it looked like the man who turned out to be the holdout juror appeared as though he was going to vote not guilty.

"I started filling out the forms. I was so excited," Carlson recalled in the interview. "Actually there were three forms I had to fill out and I started filling them out. I wrote my signature." But, she said, the holdout then said he wasn't ready to find Clancy, 36, not guilty of murdering her three children by reason of insanity.

Carlson also blasted the prosecutors, accusing them of being too "harsh" on Clancy, who admitted to strangling her three young children to death. "So very, very harsh," Carlson complained. "We weren't trying to figure out if she murdered the children. She did," the jury foreman admitted, even though she was ready to find the defendant not guilty. 

Carlson went on to lavish Clancy's defense lawyer, 75-year-old Kevin Reddington with praise, saying "he was entertaining" in court. "Arrogant but entertaining," said Paula Devlin, a contract worker who was the third juror to speak out. Devlin clarified that Reddington was arrogant in a good way, but criticized the holdout juror for being "arrogant" with fellow jurors. 

The interview drew strong reactions on social media, with many people marveling at the tone deafness of quote from Farina that the juror couldn't overlook "the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children." Below, watch the full interview.
