Tucker Carlson says Cabinet members should remove Trump from office using 25th Amendment

In an interview with NPR Newsmakers, former Fox News host Tucker Carlson escalated his hostile rhetoric toward President Trump on Thursday by calling for the president's Cabinet to remove Trump from office. 

Speaking with Steve Inskeep of NPR, Carlson continued the descent into Trump Derangement Syndrone he's been suffering for months now, leveling more harsh criticism of Trump over the war with Iran, apparently expressing hope that Trump would be impeached by Democrats.

“He’s not going to be punished for it," Carlson said. "They’ll get him on corruption or whatever. It's enough for me to say he should be removed from office. He should have been removed from office by his own Cabinet secretaries the moment he threatened a nuclear attack," Carlson said about Trump's tough talk with Iran.

Trump has said he considered annihilating Iran, even mentioning the possibility during his speech at the U.N. General Assembly, but has stopped short of threatening a nuclear attack. In fact, when asked point-blank whether he'd use a nuclear weapon against Iran, Trump explicitly said, "No. No, I wouldn't. We don't need it."

Inskeep asked Carlson whether he was referring to use of the 25th Amendment, and Carslon replied, "He should have been removed from office immediately when he threatened nuclear war. Threatening the offensive use of nuclear weapons? Which is to say threatening the destruction of humanity?" Carslon continued. "He should have been bundled up and taken out. That's a crime. There's no greater crime than that."

The obsession with Trump's removal from office, by practically any means, is a highly popular idea on the radical left. A poll released this week showed many Democrats would approve of Trump being removed through the 25th Amendment, which allows for Cabinet members to declare a president unfit to serve. The same poll showed 30% of Democrats would approve of Trump being removed by assassination as well. Carslon has been increasingly moving to the left in recent weeks, even endorsing Abdul El-Sayed, a Democrat running for Senate in Michigan against Mike Rogers.
