Melania Trump, in rare interview, weighs in on husband's 2nd term in office

First lady Melania Trump appeared on Fox & Friends Wednesday in a rare interview and answered questions about how she thinks her husband's second term is going so far, telling the hosts she always gives her husband honest feedback, but that he doesn't always want to hear it.

She was asked about how President Trump's second term is unfolding compared to his first term in office, and she said the second term has been different given the state of global affairs and the administration's focus on foreign policy issues. 

"He's very focused. He has a lot on his plate. It's very different, what's going on around the world now," the first lady said. "But, I think he's doing the best that he can. He works nonstop. He has the most energy than anybody. He's, from morning till evening, nonstop working."

Brian Kilmeade asked her about how she thought the president's speech at the U.N. General Assembly in New York on Tuesday went and she praised his performance. 

"I told him he had a great delivery," the first lady answered. "He did very well and [gave] a great speech." She added that, at times, the president doesn't always want her feedback. "Sometimes he doesn't want to hear it, but that's OK. I always say the truth."

The primary reason for her appearance was to promote a new docuseries on her life that's set to debut in the coming months as well as Imperia, professional network for women CEOs and business executives, she's launching. 

“It’s more conversation one-on-one with me,” she said about the docuseries. “There’s some private questions that I will answer that people never heard before, so it’s kind of exciting.” She said the docuseries differs from the theatrical documentary titled Melania that was released earlier this year. At the time, the documentary, directed by Brett Ratner, raked in $7 million on its debut weekend, the best box office haul for a documentary in 10 years, according to The New York Post. Melania pulled in more than $16 million during its theatrical run, despite being trashed by leftwing movie critics.

The first lady also touched on her relationship with first ladies from other nations as well her work with Fostering the Future, and said she doesn't keep a high public profile, but is working on numerous projects behind the scenes, which will be a subject of the docuseries.  

After the appearance on Fox & Friends, the first lady rang the ceremonial opening bell at the New York Stock exchange, as part of the launch of Imperia, and delivered a keynote address at the exchange after the opening bell.
