President Donald Trump delivered a speech to the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York City Tuesday morning in which he addressed the ongoing war in Iran as well as laid out his America First agenda in terms of a global context.

Trump threatened that the U.S. could quickly "annihilate" Iran and said he was even considering it, echoing language he used earlier this year, less than two months into the war. But even though his remarks sent Iranian diplomats walking out of the room, Trump also struck a more hopeful tone on how things between the U.S. and Iran could play out.

“Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before, maybe one of the greatest in the Middle East or even the world?” Trump asked rhetorically at one point. In fact, as he was delivering the speech, Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff sat with negotiators from Iran for the first time in months on the sidelines at the U.N., according to The New York Post. The meeting went on for three hours and Witkoff was rather tight-lipped afterward, but told reporters, "I feel very good right now," The Post reported.

Trump also vowed “oil prices will come plummeting down even lower than they were at the start of the conflict" once a deal between the U.S. and Iran is reached. He also said that “more oil is flowing than at any point since the start of the war," referencing the U.S. effort to keep tanker traffic moving through the Strait of Hormuz despite attacks on ships by Iran.

Trump also touched on A.I., and gave new details about the deal he struck with Greenland and Denmark on Friday, and called for the dissolution of the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“We’re going to encourage it, not rein it in,” the president on the topic of A.I., adding that the U.S. "totally rejects" a "globalist scheme" to regulate the development of A.I. “I’m not going to stifle growth of something that will be bigger than the industrial revolution,” Trump declared.

On the Greenland deal, which Trump officially signed with Denmark and Greenland on Tuesday, he said the U.S. would "have permanent control over security” across the critical piece of real estate. He outlined plans for two new military bases he said the U.S. would build: one in southern Greenland to complement a base the U.S. already operates in that region, and another on Greenland's east coast.

Trump also took aim at the U.N. itself as well as the ICC, which he said should be dissolved. "I call on all nations that are members of the ICC to officially resign from this rogue institution immediately," Trump said, adding that Christians around the world are the victims of crimes and the so-called court all but looks the other way.

"It is equally unacceptable that with all the genuine atrocities in the world, the U.N.'s top human rights officials spend their time criticizing the United States for protecting our children from transgender mutilation and transgender insanity and enforcing our immigration laws," the president said.

He punctuated his remarks by saying, “There is no global government, and while I’m president, there will be no global taxes." Later on Tuesday, Trump reflected on his address, saying, "I had a good time making a nice speech today. I've gotten, actually, very good marks."
