Kamala Harris thinks Dems impeaching Trump is 'not a good idea,' but says they should still be 'ruthless'

Former vice president and failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris is cautioning Democrats not to try to impeach President Trump if they retake control of Congress after the midterm elections, saying she thinks doing so is not practical. But she's all for investigations of Trump and those working in his administration.
Harris made the remarks this week in an interview with Aaron Parnas, a far-left podcaster. Parnas asked Harris about a hypothetical situation in which Democrats win control of both the House and Senate in next week's midterms and whether she would advise congressional leaders to pursue another impeachment of Trump after the new Congress is sworn in next January.
"I think that going on in the direction of impeachment is not a good idea. OK, just to be honest with you," Harris said. "Because we have limited resources and I think the energy and the resources need to be put into accountability, need to be put into investigations, and that's where the time should be spent."
Harris recalled her time in the senate during the House's two other failed attempts to impeach Trump during his first term. "The votes aren't there, right?" Harris remarked. "After the election we all have to just also agree that our attitude has to be to get stuff done and the tone and our kind of orientation around it has to be to be kind of ruthless." She went on to accuse Republicans of being "cruel."
The former vice president is widely considered the frontrunner if she jumps into the 2028 race, with most poll showing she has a consistently comfortable lead over other potential White House hopefuls like Gavin Newsom and AOC. She's been making more public appearances in recent weeks, although she's been prone to her signature word salads, cringeworthy moments and other stumbles on the campaign trail.
