Kamala Harris says she has 'no question or doubt that we will win the midterms'

Kamala Harris on Tuesday at a conference in Austria made a bold prediction and said that she has "no doubt" Democrats will win the midterm elections in November.

The former vice president and failed presidential candidate appeared alongside former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in Vienna for a fireside chat at the the Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative's Austrian World Summit. The discussion was ostensibly about climate change and environmental issues, but, not surprisingly, devolved into a venting session in which Harris unleashed a torrent of criticism directed at President Trump, particularly on his handling of the Iran war. 

When asked by the discussion's moderator, CNN's Elex Michaelson, whether she would've gone to war against Iran had she won the 2024 election, Harris responded, "Absolutely not." Tim Walz, her running mate in 2024 who is still the governor of Minnesota but apparently makes time to jet-set to Europe, sat in the front row and nodded after Harris answered.

She went on to say, "I predicted just about everything that has happened with this administration." Harris has apparently drawn some healthy confidence from that prediction, which she feels she called accurately, and said she was certain that Democrats were in line to take control of the House and the Senate in the November midterm elections. 

"I'm going to be candid," Harris declared, calling the Trump administration "essentially the most callous, corrupt, and incompetent presidential administration America's ever experienced. And for that reason, I have no question or doubt that we will win the midterms." Recent polling suggests Democrats are clinging to the narrowest of leads over Republicans in the midterm race for the House, and are not likely to flip the Senate. 

Harris continues to behave as though she's planning to run for president again in 2028, but when Michaelson asked her about her White House ambitions, she dodged the question and instead criticized Trump, who defeated her in 2024. The event made for an interesting juxtaposition of two people who have been defeated in one way or another by Trump. 

Harris, of course, lost the 2024 presidential election to Trump after being installed as the Democrat nominee when Joe Biden was forced out of the race. And Schwarzenegger took over hosting The Celebrity Apprentice after Trump was elected to his first term. Schwarzenegger infamously quit the show after one season amid low TV ratings. Not surprisingly, he blamed Trump. 

At the end of the fireside chat, it was abundantly clear the Kool-Aid was flowing inside the auditorium as the emcee of the event grabbed the microphone just after Harris and Schwarzenegger left the stage and said, "I think we just heard breaking news -- Kamala for president in 2028, Arnold for president in 2032." The audience erupted in applause. Schwarzenegger, of course, is ineligible to run for President of the United States because he was not born in the U.S.
