The action on the field at Super Bowl 60 may have left some fans underwhelmed. And the halftime show was a big let-down for many viewers. But for some lucky fans inside Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, the food outshined just about everything else.
Say hello to the LX Hammer Burger, a cheeseburger with braised bone-in beef shank, roasted mirepoix demi-glace, and Point Reyes blue cheese fondue on baked brioche bun. The mega-burger took the idea of a deluxe burger to a whole level, and came with a price tag that was also on another level: $180.
Chicago-based Levy Restaurants crafted the burger and a number of other high-end concessions for the big game. The LX Hammer Burger was a limited edition item, with only 200 of the decadent burgers made. A lucky Seahawks fan happened to snag one of the giant sandwiches and was looking for a place to share it with his son before watching his team capture the Lombardi Trophy.
According to Levy Restaurants, the burger was designed to feed a party of four, but at least one individual with a larger appetite -- former NFL star Jason Kelce -- was seen devouring the LX Hammer burger all by himself. "This is my kind of sandwich, the former center declared, as he tried to conquer the colossal burger.
