As many as 20 rioters were arrested arrested late Sunday night in Newark, N.J., after more than a week of violent clashes with police and federal agents dragged on outside of an ICE detention center.

According to The New York Post, police in riot gear detained 20-25 rioters after they defied the mayor's 9 p.m. curfew on Sunday night. Antifa protesters have been rioting there for more than a week, with some of them even erecting makeshift barricades made from objects taken out of a garbage dumpster and pieces of concrete the vandals dug up from nearby sidewalks

The demonstrations began the Friday before Memorial Day weekend amid reports that illegals being held inside the Delaney Hall Detention Center had begun staging a hunger strike in protest of what they claim are poor conditions. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin has denied that conditions inside the facility are poor, saying that the living standard in Delaney Hall exceeds those of most prisons in the U.S.

Meanwhile, outside, the agitators have been wreaking havoc, disrupting vehicles from entering and leaving the facility, attacking federal agents positioned around the outside of the detention center. News photos showed the words "Kill ICE" spray painted on a concrete wall near the detention center. The scene was chaotic as state police officers chased down and apprehended rioters, video showed. At one point over the weekend, mobs of rioters pushed through the barricades as they tried to storm the detention center. State police officers managed to hold them off.

The protests hardly appear to be organic in nature, as is often the case with far-left demonstrations that go on for extended periods of time.

Independent journalist Nick Sortor, who's been on the scene covering clashes, said he infiltrated the Antifa camp with a hidden camera over the weekend. The video Sortor captured showed large tents where rioters could pick up all manner of supplies, including snacks. Hot food, like lasagne, was being delivered every hour, Sortor reported. There was also a medical tent, where rioters could obtain first-aid supplies.

On Monday morning, the DHS posted on X, saying, "Last night, our New Jersey law enforcement partners took action to arrest rioters. Lawlessness will NOT be tolerated." An exact number of arrests was not confirmed. Below, watch Sortor's hidden camera footage from inside the Antifa camp.
