Yahoo News, which draws more than 200 million monthly page views, making it the fourth-largest news publisher in the U.S., is suppressing content from conservative-leaning news websites. At the same time, Yahoo News is boosting content from liberal-leaning sites, according to the Media Research Center (MRC), a watchdog group. MRC also found this trend occurring on MSN and Google News.
According to an MRC analysis conducted during January 2026, Yahoo News "buried Fox News and the New York Post -- the only two right-leaning outlets promoted in the top 20 of Yahoo News’s morning editions." And when Yahoo News did promote stories from right-leaning news sources, the internet giant "primarily featured human-interest headlines." On 16 days during the month of January, Yahoo News promoted zero stories from right-leaning outlets during prime-time hours in its top 20 on the website and it the app, the analysis found.
Google News, MSN and Apple News have also been documented shunning content from right-leaning news outlets, MRC discovered, and showing particular disdain for The New York Post, which was founded by Alexander Hamilton in 1801 and is one of America's oldest continuously published newspapers. Those four news sites didn't feature a single story from The Post for more than 100 days.
Last week, MRC exposed the bias against right-leaning news publishers by Apple News, an app that comes pre-loaded on Apple iPhones, laptops and iPads and is used by more than 140 million Americans. MRC found Apple featured 620 stories from news outlets considered left-leaning or centrist during January, but zero stories from conservative news publishers over the same period.
MRC president David Bozell appeared on The Scott Jennings Show to explain the method MRC used and said the group's findings are an example of how "uninformed and improper narratives start to circulate.
