Tucker Carlson's favorability collapses amid feud with Trump

Tucker Carslon's favorability bottoms out.
Tucker Carslon's favorability bottoms out.

What a difference two years makes. Tucker Carlson's favorability among Republican voters has absolutely crashed since March 2024 when it was at +54 -- and Carlson was firmly in Trump's camp. As of April 2026, Carlson's favorability is barely above water, at +7, according to CNN polling guru Harry Enten.

Enten walked through the latest polling data on Carlson's epic collapse Friday, a day after Trump savaged Carlson as well as Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones in a post on Truth Social. Carlson and the three others have been highly critical of Trump in recent months, particularly over the war with Iran. "They have one thing in common, Low IQs. They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it, and everyone else knows it, too!" Trump said in the widely-viewed social media post.

He also took aim at former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green, once one of the president's most stalwart supporters, whom he labeled a "traitor."

According to the polling data cited by Enten, Carlson's favorability is plunging with Republican voters as well as independent voters who lean conservative. "My goodness gracious," Enten marveled. "When you go up against Donald Trump and you want to appeal to the Republican base, to quote the movie Good Burger, 'You go in the grinder.'"

Enten pointed out that among the same voting bloc -- Republicans and conservative leaning independents -- polls show Trump's favorability at +61, good for a 54-point margin over Carlson. Trump is "crushing" Carlson in terms of popularity, Enten said, adding that the numbers would be even worse for Carlson if Trump's MAGA base had been polled on Carlson's favorability versus Trump's.
