President Trump's standing with his MAGA base hasn't wavered at all since the Iran war started nearly three weeks ago. In fact, Trump's support among his base is so strong, according to recent surveys, it prompted CNN polling guru Harry Enten to declare, "He is the 1972 Miami Dolphins," a reference to the only NFL team to finish a regular season undefeated.

Enten walked through the remarkable numbers revealed in a recent poll conducted by NBC News. A full 100% of voters who consider themselves "MAGA" approve of the job Trump is doing a little more than a year into his second term. Those who disapprove, according to the poll: 0%. "That 100% that Trump has among MAGA GOP, is not an artifact of MAGA shrinking. It's just how strong Trump's grip is on the MAGA base," Enten said.

Moreover, Trump's base is broadening ever so slightly. In November 2024, and NBC News poll found 28% of Americans considered themselves MAGA. That number has risen to 30% in the latest poll.

Enten highlighted the polling numbers amid recent reports that certain personalities who have been influential within the MAGA sphere are abandoning Trump over the war in Iran. Tucker Carlson has been among the loudest conservative voices criticizing Trump. "The theme of this segment is: Tucker Carlson be darned," Enten said, suggesting Carlson has little actual influence in swaying Trump's voter base and that loyalist Trump voters approve of Trump's decision to attack Iran by a huge margin.

"Some Republicans disapprove ... but they are not members of the MAGA movement," Enten concluded. Watch below for a full breakdown of the numbers.
