So-called 'student riots' in France hijacked by far-left communist and Islamist group

Rioters in Paris last week carried Palestinian flags.

Last week, video images emerging from France showing violence and riots in the streets ricocheted around the world. In almost every clip, rioters running around with Palestinian flags could be seen, yet the mainstream media in the U.S. insisted that the shocking images the world was seeing consisted merely of disgruntled students protesting the condition of schools in France.

That is only part of the truth. As Fox News investigative reporter Asra Nomani discovered, there's a concrete reason so many Palestinian flags were flying during what were purported to be student protests: any student protest that may have existed was completely hijacked by far leftists pushing communist and Islamist agendas.

According to Nomani's reporting, only one-third of those taking part in the riots were organized by student or youth groups. The lion's share of those rioting were organized by adults and the majority of protesters were adults as well. Nomani appeared on Fox News over the weekend to explain her findings. "Most of them are communist, socialist or far-left groups," Nomani said. "Two of them are really strong Islamist groups."

Nomani says she tracked the funding of the groups back to a Chinese-backed propaganda group operating out of New York City called BreakThrough News, which she said was pushing out videos and photos on social media in an attempt to depict "the image of the West in chaos."

Nomani went on to say the playbook being deployed to stir up unrest on the streets of France echoes what's been happening in the U.S. for the last decade. Watch a clip from that interview below and read Nomani's full report here.
