No mention of Swalwell ending campaign, resigning from Congress on Kimmel's show

For those keeping score at home, Jimmy Kimmel has yet to mention anything about the sex assault allegations that emerged over the last week and caused Eric Swalwell to end his campaign for California governor and resign from his seat in the House of Representatives.

It was just last November that Swalwell appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to announce his gubernatorial campaign. In addition to launching his campaign on that November episode, Swalwell fraternized with Kimmel over their shared hatred of President Trump, with Swalwell declaring, "The president's not going to like this show."

According to Fox News, neither Kimmel nor Stephen Colbert have mentioned a word about Swalwell's campaign going up in flames or the disturbing allegations women have made agains the disgraced ex-congressman.

Media critic Joe Concha said during an appearance on Fox News that it shouldn't come as a surprise that the two hosts are avoiding the issue. "These guys are, and have always been ... sycophants to the Democratic party." Concha pointed out that the two haven't hosted a Republican guest -- other than Liz Cheney who opposed Trump -- in years.

Colbert is on his way out, with CBS announcing that it was canceling his late-night show. Colbert's last show will be next month. And Kimmel was suspended by ABC last September after making incendiary remarks about Trump supporters in the days after Charlie Kirk's assassination. Swalwell, at the time, walked around the Capitol grounds passing out T-shirts and hats that read "Stand Up for Jimmy Kimmel."

Earlier this year, Dave Rubin polled readers of his newsletter on who they view as "the worst leftist clown on television." Kimmel won that poll with more than 27% of the vote among Rubin Recap readers. Meanwhile, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro this week set up a tip line for accusers to call and report claims against Swalwell after one woman accused him of drugging, raping and choking her. Swalwell has denied any criminal wrongdoing. Below, watch the segment from Fox News about Kimmel and Colbert staying silent on Swalwell.
