Newly-released body cam video shows blue-haired transgender student being arrested after outburst over 'misgendering'

Police body cam footage released this week showed police arresting a student at the University of Central Florida in Orlando after the individual unleashing a disturbing meltdown on campus during an incident in February 2025. 

A spokesperson for the UCF Police Department reportedly said that at the time of the 2025 incident, officers had responded to reports that a student, 27-year-old Jarrett Vick, was “involved in a verbal altercation with several juveniles and became combative with officers upon their arrival.” Vick had apparently taken offense to being referred to as a he rather than a she. 

A police officer can be heard trying to reason with Vick, who was combative from the outset of the interaction, jumping up and down and screaming in a shrill and unhinged manner.

"Stop misgendering me," Vick screamed after the officer apparently used the incorrect pronoun to address Vick, who was wearing a Star Wars shirt with images of stormtroopers on the front if it and pink shoes. Vick had longish, blue and black hair in the video. "Why do you let these kids get away with this?" Vick demanded at one point as a security guard stood by helpless, making a call on a cellphone.

The body cam footage is more than seven minutes and shows the meltdown escalating as the officer explains he would put handcuffs on Vick if Vick didn't moderate his behavior. Eventually, the officer calls for backup and pulls out a can of pepper spray as as Vick screams, F**k you! F**k you, cop!" while a bystander tried to calm Vick down.

Another officer arrived on the scene, and the first officer then ordered Vick to get on the ground. When Vick refused to comply, the officer turned Vick around and the two officers tasered Vick after a struggle.

After the arrest, Vick was charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting an officer with violence, according to the UCF Police Department spokesperson. According to the school, Vick dropped out and didn't graduate from UCF. Watch the full police body cam video below.
