Musk calls out interviewer on how she and mainstream media falsely characterize normal people as 'far right'

A new interview with Elon Musk is making waves for a host of reasons, not the least of which is the way in which Musk pushed back after the interviewer asked him a snarky question about supporting the "far right, the fringe people."

Musk fired back at Zanny Minton Beddoes, the editor-in-chief of The Economist, saying, "I support the normal people, what you call the far right -- falsely."

"You think is the normal person?" Beddoes asked. "Yes!" a flabbergasted Musk responded, before elaborating on his point.

"Literally, you could go back 10 or 15 years, and these policies were completely normal. In fact, one of the tricks that I think is funny is to take a speech from Obama and Hillary, and then go to someone who's on the lunatic left, and say, 'What do you think of the speech by Trump?' They're like, 'Oh, wow, he's the worst person ever.' Actually, that was the speech by Obama! Or Hillary!"

When Beddoes pressed Musk that he supported the "fringe right," Musk responded, saying, "Please -- it's actually just normal people." Musk then listed three basic principles he often promotes -- secure borders, safe cities and sensible government spending -- and asked Beddoes which of those were "far right." 

Musk wasn't finished with his point, as he gave Beddoes a piece of his mind about the bad faith way she and many others in the mainstream media do their jobs. 

"I'd like to admonish you and the media for the absurd characterization of the far right. It is false, misleading, and nonsense," Musk thundered, adding to the podcast's producers, "Keep this part in!"
