New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani publicly revealed the names of thousands of New Yorkers who very well could be slapped with his new pied-à-terre tax, and many of the names Mamdani revealed are wealthy, A-list celebrities who supported his unlikely mayoral campaign.

According to The New York Post, famous names like iconic filmmakers like Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen are included on the list as well as pop star Taylor Swift, and magazine publishing giant Anna Wintour. Many of the names of the wealthy and famous who could be subject to the new tax were Mamdani supporters. One notable and vocal Mamdani supporter whose name was on the list was Cynthia Nixon, the former Sex & the City actress who mounted a failed campaign to become New York's governor and in recent years has become known for her extreme leftist politics.

The database posted online by New York City is searchable, all but exposing everyone who could be subject to the new tax, which would force people who own a home in the city that's not a primary residence -- something like a second home or a vacation home -- and worth at least $1 million to pay additional taxes on top of the property taxes already paid.

“It’s a reckless and foolish move, especially considering there are potentially thousands of properties on this list that do not qualify as second homes or whose owners will successfully dispute their inclusion,” Council Minority Leader David Carr, a Republican from the borough of Staten Island, told The New York Post. His name is also on the list.

Mamdani has drawn widespread criticism for the cavalier and even obnoxious way he's taunted New Yorkers who will be subject to the new tax. "Check your mailbox when you’re back in the five boroughs, because you’ve got mail," Mamdani said in a social media post last week that has racked up more than 20 million views. Back in April, Mamdani announced the tax by releasing a social media video showing himself standing in front of billionaire investment manager Ken Griffin's Central Park South penthouse apartment as celebrated the looming tax.

Griffin responded by slamming the video as "creepy and weird" and suggesting he might bail on a $6 billion development project that is soon to get underway in the city, saying he might focus on projects in Miami instead. Watch the video below for more.
