James Carville admits to suffering from 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' in unhinged, profanity-laced tirade

Longtime Democrat strategist James Carville unleashed a shocking tantrum during a podcast appearance in recent days, admitting during the profanity-laced tirade that he suffers from "Trump Derangement Syndrome" and calling the President of the United States a "fat a**hole."

Carville, the man who in 1992 coined the phrase "It's the economy, stupid" while working as a strategist for then-candidate Bill Clinton, has been increasingly showing signs of mental instability in recent years, particularly since Trump was re-elected to a second term as president. Carville lived up to -- and even far exceeded -- his nickname "the Ragin' Cajun" in this latest crash-out, which occurred during an episode of the Politics War Room podcast.

"I got Trump Derangement Syndrome. I hate the motherf**ker!" Carville seethed at one point. "And you know what? I don't want to get rid of it. I don't want to get better! I want to get worse! I want to hate him more!"

"I speak for a lot of f**king people, you hear me, you fat a**hole," Carville screeched, apparently thinking he was addressing Trump directly. 

As Dave put it on Monday's Rubin Report episode, Carville was screaming into his webcam and "frothing at the mouth like a dog with rabies." Carville, 81, has a reputation for being dramatic and performative in media appearances, but at times he's also shown a level of apparent mental decline, along with a willingness to say anything to disparage Trump regardless of whether what he was saying was true or not. 

In June 2024, Dave and Carville appeared together on an episode Real Time with Bill Maher and Carville repeated the "Very Fine People Hoax." Dave immediately debunked the hoax directly to his face, and Carville had little response beyond laying down on the desk at which the Real Time guests were seated.
