With questions mounting about Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's immigration status and skyrocketing net worth, attempts to investigate Omar are being stymied by Republicans on Capitol Hill, according to one congresswoman.

Speaking with Lindell TV reporter Alison Steinberg this week in the halls of Congress, U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina was very frank about her dissatisfaction with not being able to advance an investigation into Omar's citizenship records. Omar has been accused of committing fraud by marrying a man she'd once introduced as her brother to help the man gain U.S. citizenship, according to The New York Post

The controversy over Omar's marriage and immigration status has caught the attention of President Trump, who at a rally last December told supporters, "She married her brother in order to get in. We ought to get her the hell out."

According to Mace, her attempt to scrutinize Omar's immigration records are being stonewalled by Republicans on Capitol Hill. "I tried to subpoena her immigration records, her brother [and] husband's immigration records, and it was Republicans that killed my motion," Mace said. She added, "The remark is always, "Let the process play out.' That's what they always say, and nothing ever happens."

Similarly, The House Oversight Committee has attempted to probe a winery owned by Omar and her current husband Tim Mynett, that has helped the congresswoman's net worth balloon to almost $30 million.

The committee set a Feb. 19 deadline for Omar and Mynett to submit records on the winery, which has been accused of not actually selling any wine. But there's been no word on whether Omar and her husband have complied with the investigation. Omar has publicly railed against it. Below, watch a clip of Nancy Mace's remarks.
