Embattled Congresswoman Ilhan Omar posted a video on social media thanking supporters who've sent her money since her home was raided by federal investigators last week -- and asking supporters to donate more.

Omar, who wore a black headscarf and was riding in the rear seat of a moving vehicle as she shot the video, told followers that the money they send will be used to “fight Trump and his administration for trying to intimidate me and so many other people right before the midterm elections.” The U.S. representative from Minnesota went on to suggest that the Trump administration is "running scared" and that she would be "out there campaigning" as the Nov. 3 midterm elections approach. She predicted Democrats would win control of both the House and Senate.

The video plea for cash comes after reports revealed federal investigators are in possession of a DNA sample from Omar, the Somali-born congresswoman who arrived in the U.S. as a teenager in the mid-'90s. Investigators have also reportedly questioned Omar's older sister, whose phone they confiscated earlier this year and which was instrumental in securing the search warrant ahead of last week's raid. The investigation centers on whether Omar committed immigration fraud through various means, a crime that could result in her denaturalization and deportation.

President Trump said Tuesday prison time could also be a possibility for Omar.

“It is going to be a very expensive and challenging time and so we appreciate whether you’re able to send $5, $10, $20,” Omar said in the video, which ended with a “thank you.”

In a new interview with The New York Post, Attorney General Todd Blanche commented on some of the ancillary aspects of the investigation into Omar, drawing a contrast with how the probe is being handled with how Donald Trump was treated when he was under investigation by federal, state and local governments. Blanche said the federal government won't try to silence Omar.

“There’s no effort by the Department of Justice, unlike the last Department of Justice that worked very hard to keep President Trump quiet by getting gag orders and the like – that’s not what we’re doing,” the attorney general said.

Below, watch Omar's plea to supporters asking them to send more cash.
