Confused Joe Biden was left alone to meander onstage at end of Obama presidential library event

Startling video from the opening of former President Barack Obama's new presidential library on Thursday showed former President Joe Biden left alone onstage in a seemingly confused state.

The cameras were still rolling as Jill Biden and Obama walked off -- the former president playing air guitar as he exited the stage. The main camera then panned back to the center of the stage, where Joe Biden stood, looking confused behind his signature Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses. Biden then removed the glasses and peered out toward the audience.

The cameraman, perhaps unclear on what to do during the unscripted moment, panned up toward a digital sign that read, "Thank You," before panning back down to the 83-year-old former president, as he asked, "Where's my granddaughter?" Biden then wandered across the stage as the camera panned upward again, leaving him out of frame.

The incident comes just about two years after Democrats and the mainstream media insisted he was "sharp as a tack" and repeated numerous other cliches meant to convince Americans of his vigor, which by that point had clearly left him. Many similar videos at the time showed Biden in confused states, or freezing up, but the White House and the media dismissed those as "cheap fakes." Instead, they maintained that he was fit enough to serve another four years as president. The house of cards came crashing down in late June 2024 during a disastrous debate against Donald Trump. 

Not long after, Biden withdrew from the race and Kamala Harris was installed as the Democrat candidate without the party having held a primary. Biden's performance at the debate was such a debacle that his wife recently admitted she thought he was "having a stroke" at one point about 10 minutes into it. 

It was later revealed that Biden had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which had metastasized to his bones. He continues to receive treatment for it. Meanwhile, many people expressed shock on social media that Biden's family members still drag him to public events, like the one at the Obama center. 

On Thursday's episode of The Rubin Report, Dave contrasted the way Trump carried himself at the G7 summit this week with how Biden infamously carried himself at the event two years ago. At the time, Biden had wandered off as the world leaders were watching a military exercise. Eventually, Italy's prime minister corralled the wayward president.
