Joy! Joyful! Joyous!

The reviews of Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show from the liberal media are in and, not surprisingly, they are all glowing. And nearly every story on the halftime show features liberal media talking points that seem to have been distributed around the media ecosystem, probably before the halftime show even took place.

Sharp-eyed readers -- even dull-eyed readers -- should notice the striking similarities in all of the mainstream media coverage of Bad Bunny's performance. Almost every article reviewing the show used some form of the word "joy" to describe it.

"Bad Bunny Delivers Joyful Super Bowl Halftime Show," The New York Times declared. It was a "joyous TD," according to Extra. An "ode to joy," The Guardian pronounced. "Pure joy," according to Teen Vogue. Bad Bunny "leans into joy," PEOPLE magazine insisted, while Consequence of Sound informed readers that the halftime show "framed joy as an act of defiance." Just look at what happens when the phrase "bad bunny halftime show joy" is searched on Google.

The references to joy go on and on throughout nearly every corner of the mainstream media landscape. Even the so-called conservative leaning Wall Street Journal seems to have reprinted the liberal talking points, saying Bad Bunny "uses joy to put out political firestorm."

Of course, it's obvious that these are Democrat talking points based on the apparent source. Within minutes of the halftime show ending, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota got it started by tweeting about how "joyous" the performance was. And everyone in the media quickly fell in line after that.

Any viewers who watched the Super Bowl halftime show and felt the déjà vu of having watched something that didn't feel joyful, only to hear from every news outlet that it was in fact unfettered joy, need to only look back to what happened less than two years ago for Democrats and the media using this playbook before..

After Joe Biden abruptly abandoned his 2024 re-election campaign and Kamala Harris was installed as the Democrat nominee, the media almost instantly began promoting the idea that Kamala was running a campaign of "joy. "Over and over again, mainstream media outlets tried to convince  Americans that Kamala was the "joy" candidate.

It wasn't long until that myth completely fell apart, and Harris resorted to just calling Donald Trump a "fascist." A similar outcome could be the case with Bad Bunny. It's always worth being skeptical of the mainstream media, but even more so when almost all of them echo the same exact talking point using almost uniform language.

Interestingly, The Washington Post avoided using the word joy in its headline. Instead, WaPo, which just underwent hundreds of layoffs last week, proclaimed that Bad Bunny's halftime show was brimming with "wholesome, traditional family values."

As Dave Rubin pointed out on Monday's edition of The Rubin Report, there are many things that can be said about Bad Bunny, but when the lyrics are translated from Spanish, it's obvious that they aren't reflecting "family values."

And what did the media have to say about Talking Points USA's alternative halftime show headlined by Kid Rock? According to Mother Jones, "The biggest thing missing" from the alternative halftime show was -- you guessed it -- "joy."
