U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made an appearance on a podcast this week and tore into the idea of an entrepreneur earning a billion dollars, tapping into socialist talking points, and unleashing a series of other incendiary remarks.

The congresswoman from New York leaned heavily into an increasingly common fetish among Democrats -- trashing the billionaire class -- during an interview on the It's Open with Ilana Glazer podcast. "There is a certain level level of wealth and accumulation that is unearned. You can't earn a billion dollars," AOC declared. "You just can't earn that," she repeated using dramatic hand and facial gestures but not citing any evidence for what she was saying. "That's exactly correct," Glazer responded.

"You can get market power. You can break rules. You can do all sorts of things. You can abuse labor laws. You can pay people less than what they're worth," she continued, as Glazer nodded along in agreement, repeatedly saying, "yup."

"But you can't earn that, right?" AOC went on, adding, "And so you have to create a myth that -- since you didn't earn that, you have to create a myth of earning it."

The congresswoman, whose name has been bandied about as a possible 2028 White House candidate, went on to connect the billionaire class with a history of racism and colonialism, and seems to have adopted a Kamala Harris-esque way of gesturing with her hands and speaking in overly obtuse circles.

The remarks are the latest example in an ongoing trend among Democrats like Bernie Sanders, Ro Khanna, Graham Platner, Zohran Mamdani, and others, who routinely vilify billionaires, and propose hitting them with extra taxes. Of course, Bernie Sanders has grudgingly endorsed a billionaire running to be governor of California.

AOC also fear-mongered about ICE detention centers being turned around and used to round up other groups of people once all the illegal immigrants have been deported, and dipped her toe into issues surrounding race, saying, "black Americans really created democracy in this country.
